Romania enters a partial lockdown starting Monday, November 9. The number of new COVID-19 cases reported today exceeded 10.000 infections for the first time.
The new restrictions were published today by the National Committee for Emergency Situations (CNSU), after yesterday's President Iohannis and Government joint meeting. The CNSU's decision will have to be also approved by the Government to come into force.
According to President Iohannis, the general elections will still take place in December, with the same rules and restrictions as for the previous campaign for the local elections. Today is also the start of the official electoral campaign, which will end on December 5, 07.00.
