The total number of COVID-19 infections exceeded 200.000 since the outbreak of the pandemic, as the Romanian official body for corona virus updates GCS (Grupul de Comunicare Strategica) anounced 5.028 new cases on Friday, October 23. 35.351 tests were processed in the last 24 hours.
The number of deaths reported today is 82, raising the total to 6.245. There are currently 782 persons in intensive care units, out of a total of 10.427 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Romanian hospitals.
The rate of new corona virus infections in the last 14 days reached 3.33 per thousand inhabitants in Bucharest, 3.54 in Alba county, 3.18 in Cluj and 3 in Hargita.
