Restrictions in Bucharest due to growing COVID-19 cases

The Bucharest Commissioner anounced yesterday the restrictions which will take effect starting 7th of October in Bucharest, as a measure against the steep growing of new COVID-19 cases in Romania.

The restrictions will remain valid at least for the next 7 days or until the notification rate of newly reported COVID-19 cases per 1 000 population will drop under 1.5. The current rate in Bucharest is over 2.1, almost double the countrywide average of 1.1.

The main restriction will force the indoor cafes, restaurants, cinema halls, theaters and casinos to shut down. Another requirement is wearing protective masks around schools areas by children over 5 and adults during 7:45 - 21:15 interval.
